What Our Clients Say

Testimonials

Amirtha is now my top choice for Indian cuisine on the Virginia Peninsula. Atmosphere: cozy and friendly. Food: delectable. My party ordered three chicken dishes – Kadai curry, korma and butter chicken. The chicken was from boneless skinless thighs – tender and flavorful. My order was a few minutes late during dinner rush, so my hostess offered me two cups of Masala chai tea on the house. Recommended.

Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian choices
Mugalai chicken: tender boneless chicken in o ion gravy with added cream and ribbons of scrambled egg.

Kid-friendliness: Family atmosphere. Christmas decorations are up.

I ordered the boneless chicken biryani and saag paneer and chole bhature. The biryani came with two sauces and a whole egg and had good flavor. The paneer was seasoned nicely and came with basmati rice. The chole bhature was good as well, I was also given a small container of sweet rice it pretty good I would come back and try their other dishes,

I am so glad that I finally found a place which not only has bomb Indian street food options, northeast Indian but south Indian food all in one spot aaahhhh so gooooddddd. I got vada pav and my friend got Balado for appetizers. Let’s start with that mint and tamarind chutney soooo yummmyyy and the vada pav was delicious!. For main course I got parotta veg kurma and she got masala dosa. I mean LOOK at that dosaaaa but nothing less it was all delicious. For dessert we got gulab jamon and rasmalai and once again delicious. Highly recommend this place, great people and delicious food.

Great food and friendly service! This is a great casual Indian option in Newport News. It’s also open late if you’re so inclined! I was excited to try southern Indian cuisine and it did not disappoint. The rose milk was very tasty as well. I will definitely be returning!

This was my first time here. The atmosphere here is great. The customer service is great. The business was clean inside and out. The lady at the register was very friendly and easy to get along with. She gave me a complimentary cup of Indian tea and you also get a complimentary cup of fruit to go with your meal. I got the lamb Rohan Joan and Poori also Basmati rice, only because I didn’t know that it already comes with rice, but I know now for the next time i go.

Pretty vast menu as they’re offering different cultures of cuisine. It was pretty good but definitely not the best Indian in this area. Service was fine, a little slow, but very friendly. Not sure if I’d return with other really good Indian options so close to choose from. But I’m glad we tried it.

I got the Lamb Biryani; it was so flavorful, hearty and delicious. This is probably the best Indian food I’ve had in the area. Everything tasted like it was made with love and care, and they definitely don’t skimp on portions or spices. We also got the Muda Vada (fried savory potato donuts) and I got the Mango Lassi drink, it was all so fresh and absolutely wonderful. I can’t wait to go back and try something new.

This place was better expected. Tried something new for myself and opted for chicken biryani with level 3 spice heat; for someone who likes lots of spice, it was awesome. Also, I tried chappathi for the first time & I like it better than Naan now. The chai tea starter was very authentic & a nice touch to the evening. The service was paced slowly, which we actually enjoyed for our party of 3; we were not rushed by any means. Another member ordered paneer tikka masala, which was rich & savory with a bit of sweetness, with a side of poori, which was also a first for me. An additional first was trying the masala dosa roll with the potatoes & curry sauce; that will be a definite go-to each time we visit now. It was all so delicious, and I want to return soon to work my way around the plentiful menu.

Vegetarian options: One whole page of the menu is dedicated to veggie options.

Parking: Location is in a strip mall that has lots of well-defined parking spots.

Wheelchair accessibility: Easy to get in and out of restaurant & tables could be adjusted if necessary.

Amazing service. And big variety of food with different spices and seasonings. If you arent good qith spicy food they have a spice level they offer for their dishes, 0-5. 0 being no spiciness and 5 being the hottest.
